Amazon Launches AI Shopping Guides to Make Discovering Products Easier

Amazon has introduced a new AI-powered feature called “Shopping Guides” to make finding the right product easier and faster. These guides are rolling out to Amazon's mobile app and website for iOS and Android users in the U.S., promising a more personalised shopping experience by highlighting the specific features that matter most to shoppers.

The AI Shopping Guides cover over 100 product types, including TVs, headphones, running shoes, and skincare items. The tool combines educational content with customer insights to guide you through your purchase decisions.

The technology behind AI Shopping Guides uses large language models to analyze Amazon's vast catalog. This allows the system to identify key attributes, features, and trends for each product category, ensuring the information remains current and relevant.

As you browse, Amazon’s AI assistant “Rufus” can provide real-time answers to questions, ensuring that you get the information you need seamlessly.

You can access AI Shopping Guides through search autocomplete suggestions or the "Keep Shopping For" card on Amazon's homepage. As you browse, you'll find a curated selection of products tailored to your needs, streamlining the transition from research to purchase.

While it's still early days for this feature, Amazon sees AI Shopping Guides as part of a broader push to enhance product discovery. The company plans to expand the tool to cover more product types in the coming months, aiming to change how you explore and find items on their platform.
