Capsule Secures $12M to Scale AI-Powered Video Editing for Enterprise Teams

Video creation startup Capsule has raised $12 million in Series A funding to develop what it calls "motion design systems" - collections of branded motion graphics paired with AI editing tools that allow anyone in an organization to create professional-looking videos without technical expertise.

Key Points

  • Series A led by Innovation Endeavors with support from HubSpot Ventures and industry angels
  • New AI co‑producer uses prompts to suggest clips, titles, graphics and story structure
  • Motion design systems enforce brand guidelines, cutting production costs by up to 90%
  • Real‑time collaborative editing and commenting aim to streamline team workflows

Capsule believes every team—from marketing to sales—should create professional, on‑brand video as easily as a slide deck. With a $12 million Series A, the startup is pushing that vision forward by upgrading its AI studio to include an “interactive co‑producer” that listens to simple prompts like “Create a sizzle reel from our latest event” and immediately recommends footage, sequences, titles and graphics. This agent sits alongside motion design systems—branded graphic libraries that enforce company guidelines by default—so videos stay consistent without manual review.

Beyond smarter suggestions, Capsule is adding real‑time collaborative editing. Teams can now work in parallel—one person fine‑tuning an intro while another wraps up the closing—along with inline commenting for feedback directly on the timeline.

These features build on Capsule’s existing toolkit, which includes automatic transcription, intro summarization for title cards, image generation and text animations. Customers such as HubSpot, Instacart, Ramp and ServiceNow report faster turnaround times—shrinking projects from weeks to days or hours—and as much as 90% savings on production costs.

The $12 million round was led by Innovation Endeavors, with HubSpot Ventures and angels including Frame.io founder Emery Wells, former Twilio executive François Dufour, Ramp co‑founder Karim Atiyeh and Instacart CMO Laura Jones participating. Existing backers Bloomberg Beta, Human Ventures and Swift Ventures also joined, bringing Capsule’s total funding to $19.75 million.

Capsule plans to deploy the new capital toward hiring product and visual designers, AI engineers and expanding its sales force. As brands double down on video to engage customers, Capsule aims to turn every team into its own in‑house studio—no advanced editing skills required.
