Glean Expands Work AI Platform with Enterprise-Wide Agent Capabilities

Glean is expanding its Work AI platform with Glean Agents, a new environment that enables employees to build and deploy AI-powered agents for workflow automation. Announced today, Glean Agents is paired with universal knowledge, giving AI agents access to structured and unstructured enterprise data as well as real-time internet sources—making it one of the most comprehensive AI agent systems for the workplace.

Key Points:

  • New agent environment allows employees to create AI agents using natural language
  • Platform now includes universal knowledge access, combining enterprise and internet data
  • Enhanced business intelligence features enable natural language queries of structured data

Most AI agents today are confined to specific departments or applications. Glean’s approach is different—its agents function across an entire organization, integrating with tools like Databricks, Salesforce, and Jira while also pulling in real-time web data. This allows for more advanced workflow automation, enabling AI to retrieve information, make decisions, and execute complex business processes at scale.

Building and managing Glean Agents is designed to be simple. Employees can describe the desired outcome in natural language, and Glean’s system automatically translates that intent into multi-step automated workflows. Powered by its agentic reasoning engine, these agents go beyond basic retrieval tasks, dynamically planning and executing sophisticated operations with a library of enterprise actions. A pre-built agent library also ensures teams can quickly adopt and share AI-driven workflows.

With universal knowledge, Glean Agents gain a broader understanding of both the organization and the world. Employees can now ask business questions in plain language, receiving insights drawn from structured company data and real-time internet search results—eliminating the need for technical expertise while improving decision-making.

Security remains a priority, with active data and AI governance built into the system. Glean continuously scans for potential data risks, flagging sensitive information to ensure AI agents operate securely and within compliance policies.

This expansion comes as Glean continues its rapid growth, recently surpassing $100 million in annual recurring revenue. In just three years, Glean has more than doubled its customer base, establishing a strong presence in industries like banking, retail, and telecommunications.

“AI in the workplace needs to go beyond just retrieving information—it should be working for employees, automating complex workflows, and providing real-time insights,” said Arvind Jain, CEO of Glean.

While some features are still in beta or private preview, Glean’s vision reflects a growing shift in enterprise AI—from simple task automation to fully integrated AI agents that drive real business value. Early adoption data is promising: Glean users average five queries per day, with an industry-leading 40% daily/monthly active user ratio—far surpassing the 10-20% typically seen in enterprise software. This high engagement suggests Glean has struck a balance between AI accessibility and real workplace utility, positioning it as a leader in the evolving Work AI space.
