Oracle and Google Cloud Announce Partnership for Seamless Multicloud Experience

Google Cloud and Oracle have announced a strategic partnership that enables customers to seamlessly migrate and run mission-critical enterprise workloads across both cloud platforms. The collaboration aims to provide customers with a unified framework that combines the benefits of Oracle's database and enterprise application offerings with Google Cloud's infrastructure and AI solutions.

At the core of this partnership is Oracle Database@Google Cloud, which allows Oracle to directly host, operate, and manage Oracle database services within Google Cloud data centers. This integration eliminates the need for customers to deal with additional costs, such as cross-cloud data transfer charges, and provides end-to-end enterprise-grade support.

Customers can now procure Oracle database services, including Exadata Cloud Service and Oracle Autonomous Database, directly from the Google Marketplace and manage them through their Google Cloud console. The partnership also enables customers to interconnect Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Google Cloud without incurring cross-cloud data transfer charges.

The collaboration is expected to benefit enterprises globally across various industries, including financial services, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing. By leveraging the combined strengths of both cloud providers, customers can accelerate their cloud migrations, modernize their IT environments, and take advantage of Google Cloud's AI capabilities, such as Vertex AI and Gemini foundation models.

Oracle will operate and manage its database services directly within Google Cloud data centers, starting with regions in North America and Europe, with plans for rapid global expansion. The partnership also includes the introduction of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Google Cross-Cloud Interconnect, which allows customers to deploy workloads across both OCI and Google Cloud regions without cross-cloud data transfer charges.
