Parloa Secures $66M Series B to Scale AI-Powered Customer Service

Parloa, a Berlin-based conversational AI platform, has raised $66 million in a Series B round led by Altimeter Capital. This funding comes just a year after the company secured $21 million from European investors to fuel its international expansion.

With a focus on the U.S. market, Parloa opened a New York office last year, which helped it attract "several Fortune 200 companies" as clients, according to the company. The latest investment brings Parloa's total funding to $98 million, following its $27 million Series A round in 2023.

Founded in 2018 by Malte Kosub and Stefan Oswald, Parloa aims to revolutionize the $500 billion call center industry with its AI-powered automation platform. The company's solution enables organizations to deliver personalized, dynamic, and human-like experiences to customers while reducing wait times and automating routine tasks for employees.

Parloa says its AI-powered automation platform is designed to revolutionize the way contact centers operate, addressing the pain points often experienced by customers and contact center agents. The platform leverages large language models and generative AI to provide intelligent, humanlike interactions, going beyond the capabilities of traditional chatbots.

"We see tremendous potential in Parloa and share its vision of AI-powered customer experiences," said Apoorv Agrawal, Partner at Altimeter Capital. "Parloa stands out as a leader given their incredibly talented team and their deep focus on the most valuable parts of the customer experience stack."

Parloa plans to use the new funds to enhance its product offerings and expand further into high-growth markets, including Europe and the U.S. The company has seen 3x revenue growth in each of the last three years and has formed strategic partnerships with global consulting firms like KPMG and PwC.

"We are incredibly excited about this financing round, as it will allow us to make a significant leap forward in improving the customer service experience for everyone," said Malte Kosub, Parloa Co-Founder and CEO.

As the demand for AI-powered customer service solutions grows, Parloa faces competition from established players like Kore.ai, which recently raised $150 million, and newcomers such as Sierra, founded by former Salesforce CEO Bret Taylor.
