Wondercraft Raises $3 Million Seed Funding

London-based startup Wondercraft has raised $3 million in seed funding to expand its “Canva for audio” platform, which enables anyone to create professional-quality audio just by typing. The round was led by Will Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, ElevenLabs and Steven Bartlett.

Founded in 2023 by Palantir engineers Dimitris Nikolaou and Youssef Rizk along with former Spotify and Acast executive Oskar Serrander, Wondercraft aims to make audio production accessible through an easy-to-use platform.

At its core, Wondercraft offers an "Audio Studio" feature that allows effortless creation of ads, podcasts, audiobooks and more with its AI-powered, intuitive tools. Users can use the "Dubbing" feature to translate new or existing projects into 15+ languages while retaining the speaker's original voice through a combination of AI and human editing. The company says it uses a team of 100+ language experts to edit, validate and quality assure each translation. Finally, users can leverage the integrated "Video Generator" to create social media clips from audio files with one click.

Wondercraft stands out as the first end-to-end podcast builder, equipped with features like AI Voices for converting text to audio with hyper-realistic voices, and the option to clone one's own voice for a personalized touch. The platform offers direct publishing to major platforms like Spotify and Apple, script generation for crafting compelling podcast narratives, and show notes for SEO enhancement.

Whether equipping businesses to convert blog posts into podcasts, powering newsletters with audio versions of written content, or helping publishers launch daily news podcasts, Wondercraft aims to make creating stunning audio accessible for organizations of all sizes. It also serves educators creating engaging audio lessons and podcast production studios seeking to scale throughput.

The founders believe they can “democratize audio creation” in the way Canva simplified graphic design, allowing individual creators and enterprises alike to scale high-quality audio and access global audiences cost-effectively.

Since its beta launch last year, the startup has already attracted over 30,000 early users and already powers many of the biggest titles in podcasting—including Diary of A CEO and CoinDesk podcasts network. Investors are betting that Wondercraft’s unique value proposition has the potential to transform the podcast and audio production industries.
