Today, Microsoft introduced a refreshed version of Copilot, your new AI companion designed to be more personal, intuitive, and supportive. This update brings several advanced features that promise to make your interactions with technology smoother and more meaningful, all while keeping privacy and security front and center.
With this release, Microsoft aims to create a more human-like experience, with Copilot acting not just as a tool but as a true companion. You’ll notice a cleaner, simpler, and warmer user interface, designed to be more engaging and responsive. The focus is on giving you shorter, faster answers to keep you in the flow of your day.
Here are some of the new features that you can look forward to:
Copilot Voice: You can now have more natural, smoother conversations with Copilot. This makes it easy to brainstorm ideas, ask quick questions, or even just share your thoughts after a long day. You can also choose from four different voice options to make your interactions feel more personal.
Copilot Daily: Start your day with a personalized summary of news, weather, and reminders, delivered in your selected Copilot Voice. Copilot Daily helps you cut through the noise of information overload, pulling from trusted content sources like Reuters, Axel Springer, and Financial Times. Over time, Copilot Daily will evolve with more personalization features to help you stay on top of your day.
Copilot Vision: Built right into Microsoft Edge, Copilot Vision allows your companion to see and understand what’s on your screen. Whether you’re browsing for furniture, researching, or reading articles, Copilot Vision can help you process what you’re seeing in real-time, offering suggestions, answering questions, or providing next steps—all without interrupting your workflow. This feature is being rolled out gradually to ensure a secure and private experience.
Think Deeper: For more complex problems that require advanced reasoning, Think Deeper is here to help. Whether you’re comparing two different cities to move to, or evaluating what car best fits your needs, this feature takes a bit longer to respond but delivers more thoughtful, step-by-step answers. It’s part of Microsoft’s experimental Copilot Labs, where users can test and provide feedback on these emerging capabilities.
Microsoft has made sure that privacy and security remain at the core of these updates. For instance, with Copilot Vision, no content is stored or used for training once you end your session, and boundaries have been put in place to ensure it only engages with safe, approved websites. Additionally, Copilot adapts to your preferences and habits, offering more personalized suggestions while ensuring that your data remains protected.
The updated Copilot is now available on iOS, Android, Windows, and is even coming to platforms like WhatsApp, which will make it easier than ever to access your AI companion across all your devices.
